The SCARF-SA (Self Assessment) illustrates the order in which the SCARF elements matter to an individual.
What do the results show me?
The results show you the order in which the SCARF elements matter to you. In a matter of minutes you get a snapshot into how you rate status, certainty, autonomy, relatedness and fairness.
Understanding which of these five domains are key drivers for you helps you understand why you react so strongly in certain situations and why others don't seem to bother you so much. It will also help to explain the reaction of those around you!
Why would I take this test?
Knowing more about your own reactions leads to better self regulation and gives you more options when dealing with other people:
- Understanding that certainty is a big driver for you may help explain why you find change so hard to deal with. In future you can better manage your reaction to certain situations and ask for the information you need.
- If you know status is way down on your list but is a big driver in your workplace, you can build this into your dealings with colleagues or your boss. When pitching a new project it may be worth mentioning the big clients your project will attract or the kind of press attention you will get.
